This group contains rules for matching the mailer field of email

Mailer Expressions

This list allows the configuration of mailer matching expressions. When an expression matches it will perform the action specified for the expression. The expression type shows the type of expression the expression matching engine will use for the entered expression.

Expression types:

sub

Case insensitive substring

Specify as

simply "match" or "sub(match)"

Example

sub(mail) matches the phrase "Hexamail produces server software"

SUB

Case sensitive substring

Specify as

"SUB(match)"

Example

SUB(mail) does not match the phrase "HexaMail produces server software"

cmp

Case insensitive exact match

Specify as

"cmp(match)"

Example

cmp(mail) matches ONLY the entire exact string "mAil"

CMP

Case sensitive exact match

Specify as

"CMP(match)"

Example

CMP(mail) matches ONLY the entire exact string "mail"

word

Case insensitive word match

Specify as

" match " or "word(match)"

Example

word(mail) does not match the phrase "Hexamail produces server software" but does match the phrase "Hexamail produces mail server software"

WORD

Case sensitive word match

Specify as

"WORD(match)"

Example

WORD(Mail) does not match the phrase "Hexamail produces mail server software" but does match the phrase "Mail server software produced by Hexamail"

wild

Case insensitive wild match

Specify as

"*m?tch*" or "wild(*m?tch*)" (? - single character match, * - multiple character match)

Example

Example wild(*v?agra*) matches the phrase "Hexamail does not ship v1agra"

Note

the * wrappers round wildcard expressions, you can also do wild(Start*) to match the phrase "Start of the content" but not match "the content starts here"

WILD

Case sensitive wild match

Specify as

"WILD(m?tch)"

Example

WILD(*v?agra*) does not match the phrase "Hexamail does not ship V1agra"

Note

the * wrappers round wildcard expressions, you can also do WILD(*End) to match the phrase "The content End" but not match "the content ends here"

reg

Regular expression

Specify as

"reg(expression)"

Example

can be found at the website
http://www.regular-expressions.info/

REG

Case sensitive regular expression

Specify as

"REG(expression)"

Example

can be found at the website
http://www.regular-expressions.info/

BOOL

Boolean expression

Specify as

"BOOL(expression)"

Example

BOOL(wild(*viagra*) AND wild(*ph?rm?cy*) must match both wild matches to be considered an overall match. Brackets may be used.

Note

Brackets allow nested clauses in a BOOL expression

Add #NN to any weighting expression to multiple the weight by the number NN

Icon key:

 - If matched these expressions allow the email

 - If matched these expressions add weight to the email score

 - If matched these expressions mark the email

 - If matched these expressions block the email

 - If matched these expressions delete the email
