If identified, the email can be marked so that the end user is aware of the infected content, blocked completely so that the end user cannot inadvertently execute a virus or a script, or the infected attachment can be removed and a comment added to the email to inform the user of the action taken. All processed emails can be optionally stored in a quarantine for later review, resend or deletion.
